David Gottfried has been a trial lawyer since 1989. He is a graduate of Emory University Law School in Atlanta.
His first 7 years following law school were spent practicing in a multi-city law firm. David then opened his own practice, focusing on real estate and business litigation.
As a general practice trial lawyer, David has represented clients in several areas, including: class actions, construction law, deceptive trade practices, employment law, business torts, antitrust, shareholder derivative actions, collections, water utility rate change applications, administrative law, premises liability, landlord-tenant law, and business transactions that include formations, mergers, and acquisitions.
David is a problem solver. His unique skill set includes his ability to draw from his own experience, his persuasive manner, his negotiating prowess, his measured application of pressure on his opponents, and his focus on preparation and methodical strategy.
When not working hard for his clients, David enjoys spending time with his two daughters, playing sand volleyball, and water-skiing on Lake Austin before the work day begins.
Meghan was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Upon finishing law school, Meghan served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Lubbock County Criminal district Attorney’s Office in the Civil Division for three years. She has participated in over 200 mediations, over 300 bench trials, and several jury trials. During her years of practice, Meghan has gained valuable experience resolving disputes and advocating for clients in and out of the courtroom.
As a member of the LGBT community and a parent, Meghan is uniquely positioned to work with clients on second parent adoptions and estate planning. Meghan’s clients appreciate her calm straightforward approach.
In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with friends and family. Meghan and her wife Amanda are proud parents of their two children.
Marta Zuzeviciute
Marta Zuzeviciute is originally from Kaunas, Lithuania, and grew up in Houston, Texas. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where she studied Sociology and French before attending law school at New England Law Boston. Marta is thrilled to be starting her career with the Gottfried Alexander Law Firm.
Patrick is of-counsel to Gottfried Alexander and heads up the appeals practice. He has been licensed to practice law since 1991 and in Texas since 2007. He graduated with high honors from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina in 1990. He holds a masters degree in English literature from Duke.
Following a federal judicial clerkship in Atlanta, Patrick worked at a large law firm in Washington, DC, handling litigation. He left law practice in 1998 to start up a residential and light-commercial design/build firm in the DC area known for creative reuse, renovation, and rehabilitation of old homes. Having been raised in Texas, Patrick returned in 2007 with his wife and three young children, where he resumed law practice.
Patrick is a leading property rights lawyer and veteran appeals lawyer. He has handled over 50 appeals across the state and regularly appears in the Texas Supreme Court. At the trial level, he advises and guides clients in protecting their rights against homeowners’ associations, condominium boards, and oppressive city ordinances.
