Patrick Sutton, Of Counsel
Patrick is of-counsel to Gottfried Alexander Firm and heads up the appeals practice. He has been licensed to practice law since 1991 and in Texas since 2007. He graduated with high honors from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina in 1990. He holds a masters degree in English literature from Duke.
Following a federal judicial clerkship in Atlanta, Patrick worked at a large law firm in Washington, DC, handling litigation. He left law practice in 1998 to start up a residential and light-commercial design/build firm in the DC area known for creative reuse, renovation, and rehabilitation of old homes. Having been raised in Texas, Patrick returned in 2007 with his wife and three young children, where he resumed law practice.
Patrick is a leading property rights lawyer and veteran appeals lawyer. He has handled over 50 appeals across the state and regularly appears in the Texas Supreme Court. At the trial level, he advises and guides clients in protecting their rights against homeowners’ associations, condominium boards, and oppressive city ordinances.
Aside from being licensed in Texas, Patrick is a member of the Washington State Bar.
